Increasing globalisation implies an increased exchange of knowledge across geographical borders, also within the psychological disciplines. In the West, the spread of mindfulness and meditation practices in education -, health- and corporate sector illustrates this. Through these recent developments, Rashmi Singla will talk about how Western psychology can develop a more global orientation in interplay with Asian/ Indian psychology. Furthermore merits and perils involved including the processes of ethno/ eurocentrism will be highlighted.
Rashmi Singla is an Associate Professor at Department of Psychology & Educational Research as well as at Interdisciplinary Studies in Health Promotion at RUC.
